Cathay Bank Raises $92,000 for Local Nonprofits at Its 45th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The 45th Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held on November 1 at the Industry Hills Golf Club, bringing together close to 100 players.

The annual charity golf tournament has been the Bank’s signature fundraiser since 1977. It is a highly anticipated event among team members and clients.

“Thank you for your participation in this charity event – to every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, and team member, for your generous time and support,” said Peter Wu, Chairman of the Cathay Bank Foundation. “After a two-year pause, it is also good to see many friends join in person to support the cause. The event was a great success.” 

“This year is our 45th annual charity golf tournament. We look forward to continuing this great cause to deliver our commitment to the community. We also would like to thank everyone who supports this event. With their generous sponsorship and donations, we can provide greater support to our local non-profit organizations,” said Thomas Lo, EVP, Director of Commercial and International Banking.

Funds raised from this tournament will benefit the following nonprofits: 

  • American Senior Citizens Service Center
  • Cathay Bank Foundation
  • Friends of the Chinatown Library
  • Herald Family Center Counseling Ministry
  • International Institute of Los Angeles
  • Irvine Chinese School
  • No Limits for deaf children and families
  • Pacific Clinics
  • Taiwanese American Heritage Week
